The Morality Square

The rational and ever-vigilant individual recognizes that corporeality must conform to the principles of an inhabited, sovereign land wherein they face judgement for their actions, either by their peers or some higher authority. Societal evolution suggests that the current incarnation may be far more rewarding when the individual adheres to a well-defined set of principles and acknowledges that the collective good hinges on their ability to apply this knowledge faithfully and unfailingly.

I have drafted a structured list of moral principles for which I voluntarily hold myself accountable, with the aim of fostering a balanced and harmonious lifestyle. The square signifies integrity and delineates the boundaries that an individual must consistently respect.

The list stands as an assay for ethical analysis: a moral crucible in which behavior can be assessed and its purity revealed.

  1. Protect the innocent. Let no harm befall those who cannot protect themselves.
  2. Avoid causing intentional harm. Do not tolerate physical or emotional violence.
  3. Love openly. Hatred lowers life expectancy and weakens the long-term survivability of humanity.
  4. Refrain from dishonesty. Distorting the truth undermines credibility, besmirches character, and erodes relationships.
  5. Abstain from excess. Relativity and proportionality are keys that will unlock almost any seal.
  6. Offer grace. Forgive those who trespass against you.
  7. Cultivate charity. Charity is a requirement for transcendence and spiritual enlightenment.
